Biography
Kaye Finlayson – Judge International All Breeds+ FCI Specialist Cavalier King Charles Spaniel
As a Conformation judge for over 40 years, I have thoroughly enjoyed my experiences within the Dog World. During my involvement for close on 50 years I bred Cavalier King Charles Spaniel’s for almost 30 of those years. Along the way I bred and showed Griffon Bruxellois a much-loved breed, and at one time owned & exhibited an American Cocker Spaniel. For a few years our Std Smooth Dachshund Gordon now coming up 14 was also shown. Gordon 14 and Basil our seven year old Cavalier are the house kids. Prior to our current dogs we lived with a beautiful German Shepherd and a gorgeous Staffy for a while.
I have had the pleasure during my travels internationally to judge in many different countries in the world, all states of Australia and extensively throughout New Zealand at All Breed, Group and Specialty Shows.
I have been involved over the last 50 years with the following NZ organisations Canterbury Cavalier King Charles Spaniel Club – President, Foundation & Life Member

Christchurch Branch NZ Dog Judges Assn – Patron, Past Chairman current Member & have over the years spent hours training and mentoring younger members progressing through the system.
On a personal note, I am retired from the corporate world of real estate and property manage and a contract with the Covid Vaccination Help Line. Currently Mike and I run an AirBnB and love the personal venture that has many folk judges & friends from within the Dog World staying. Add Judging to this and you experience the great joy and pleasure to judge dogs of every shape size and variety an honour exhibitors give with their entries.
