Biography
I have been involved with purebred dogs for over 30 years and have owned and shown Great Dane, Pyrenean Mountain Dogs , Shetland Sheepdogs and a Smooth Fox Terrier.
I have bred both Pyreneans and Shetland sheepdogs and have successfully campaigned both these breeds and have also had Specialty Best in Show wins in both breeds.
I started judging in 2003 and attained All Breeds status with New Zealand Kennel Club in 2021. I have judged at Championship show level throughout Australia, New Zealand, Taiwan, China and South Africa (including FCI) and have judged at both the Sydney Royal Dog Show and the Toowomba Royal Dog Show plus specialities in Shetland Sheepdogs, Schipperke, Australian Kelpies. Pointers and Lagotto Romagnolo. I am also licenced to judge Junior Handlers and have judged the NZ National Junior Handler final plus the Australian Junior Handler final.
I am currently President of the NZ Dog Judges Assn having served on the board for 10 years previously. I am a Life member and Vice Patron of Marlborough Kennel Assn, have served as an Executive Councillor for NZKC (Dogs NZ) and held the position of National Coordinator for the NZ Junior Dog Handler Competition for several years. In addition to this I was instrumental in establishing the NZ Junior Showmanship Judges training scheme. I also write a monthly column in the New Zealand Dog World magazine.
