Biography
Over the past couple of years I’ve been privileged to judge a few specialty clubs Eg Scottish Terrier/West Highland White Terrier Club in Auckland
Bulldog club in Auckland
Corgi Club ( Christchurch)
Chihuahua Club ( Christchurch)
Several open shows including one with 120 entries in Hamilton
I’ve owned or exhibited the following breeds
Labradors
German Shepherds ( exhibited in both Specialty shows and Ch shows)
Fox Terrier
Irish setter
Golden Retriever
Boxer
Finnish Spitz
Whippets
Currently my first ever export to Aust ( Finnish Spitz ) is the top winning dog of its breed there and has been for the past few years winning best in group out of over 500 Hounds on at least two occasions at Royal shows.
I have exported Finnish Spitz to Canada, USA, Australia, and currently have owned or bred 4 Grand Champions
One of my previous Finnish Spitz won Runner Up Hound of the Year in Australia -the first ever to be awarded this in the history of the breed in Australia
Currently I have two whippets and have been involved with this breed for just under two years
A little bit about my early background – growing up on a 1,000+ sheep and cattle farm, showing horses and poultry throughout my life I just love animals of all kinds.
But my love of dogs has been a lifetime love and my father used to regularly take me with him to dog trials all over the place from the age of 5.
I’ve been showing dogs since the age of 18, so 40 years in total
I’m absolutely loving my journey in judging and although I’ve started judging quite late in life non the less it’s been the most rewarding journey
Recent Appointments
Recently I have judged a Corgi Ribbon Parade with 20 entries, plus quite a few stakes entries in Christchurch , Ive also been privileged to judge the Black & White day in Auckland judging West Highland Whites & Scottish Terriers, The SI Hound Club, Ive also judged Ribbon Parades at Blenheim, Nelson, Christchurch, Dunedin, the Chihuahua Club, The Mainland Staffordshire Bull Terrier Club , and other specialist clubs
And as of last week was Ratified by Dogs NZ for the Open Show Panel
